Bonnie Kelly

Bonnie Kelly works at Bloomington High School with the Step Program.  Last year she connected with Home Sweet Home by bringing a group of students to volunteer in the Warehouse sorting jewelry and greeting cards.  Bonnie believes this teaches them good work habits and is a good place for a first time experience.

Bonnie and the students help with getting the jewelry or greeting cards sorted, bagged and ready for resale at the Mission Mart stores.  In turn this creates funds to provide for the people residing in the shelter.  Bonnie says the students are doing a great job and are anxious to help.

Her volunteer experience has made her more understanding of those in need.  Bonnie feels most people don’t recognize there are homeless in Bloomington as much as they should.

Bonnie recommends volunteering at Home Sweet Home as it has been a great experience for her.  You can feel good about doing something that helps others and the community.

Bonnie has completed over 210 hours since 9/2014.
