Bread For Life Co-op
Food is the doorway through which hope enters.
Pathway to Choice
Historically, recipients in our food pantry have received a pre-packaged box of food. The transition to a co-op model allows for participants to completely choose the foods with which they feed themselves and their families.
What is Bread For Life?
The Bread for Life Co-op is a membership-based program where individuals can use their own capability to provide food for themselves and their families. The co-op serves low-income individuals and families struggling with chronic food security issues.
What does membership look like?
Members of Bread for Life contribute to the co-op in one of two ways. One option is to work two hours per visit; the other is to work one hour per visit and pay $5. Members can visit the co-op twice per month, with larger families having more frequent access. We will continue to provide emergency food assistance when necessary. Repeat visits to the co-op will require membership.
What are the Co-op shopping hours?
- Monday: 3-5pm
- Wednesday: 2-4pm
- Thursday: 6-8pm
- Friday: 2-4pm

EXPERIENCE DIGNITY - DEVELOP CAPABILITY - PRACTICE EQUITY
Bread For Life gives individuals an opportunity to support themselves and experience dignity in the process. This approach allows them to share their gifts and talents to benefit themselves and others.
Bread For Life builds on the potential that exists in every person. This potential extends far beyond the co-op and reaches into every aspect of their lives to bring about a lasting impact.
Bread For Life has fundamental fairness and an equity of exchange at its core. Co-op members, volunteers, and staff work alongside each other to foster mutual respect that values all people.
