Pathway to Choice

Historically, recipients in our food pantry have received a pre-packaged box of food. The transition to a co-op model allows for participants to completely choose the foods with which they feed themselves and their families.

What is Bread For Life?

The Bread for Life Food Co-op is a membership-based program where individuals can use their own capability to provide food for themselves and their families. The co-op serves low-income individuals and families struggling with chronic food security issues.

What does membership look like?

Members of Bread for Life contribute to the co-op in one of two ways. One option is to work two hours per visit; the other is to work one hour per visit and pay $5. Members can visit the co-op twice per month, with larger families having more frequent access. We will continue to provide emergency food assistance when necessary. Repeat visits to the co-op will require membership. For more information about how to become a member, send an email to [email protected] or call (309) 828-7356 ext. 228.

What are the Co-op shopping hours?
